Regenerate Gum Tissue The Mugford Center MD 21114
Do you have receding gums? If so, you may want to have your gums regrow to help cover your teeth effectively. While you cannot simply push a button and regrow new tissue, there are things that you can do to help your gum tissue remain healthy and hold tight to your teeth.

This is important, because if your gums recede too far, this could put the health of your teeth at risk. By taking the time to keep your gums healthy, you can avoid many of these problems.

Rebuilding Healthy Gum Tissue

The best way of rebuilding healthy gum tissue isn't quite through regeneration. It is actually through what is called a soft-tissue graft. For this procedure, you must have a small bit of tissue removed from another part of your mouth, often the roof of the mouth is used. Then this new bit of tissue is placed over the area where you need new gum tissue.

Once the new tissue has been put into place, it is stitched into place so that it can heal. Typically, self-dissolving stitches are used so they do not need to be taken out at a later date. After a short time, your gums will be stronger and healthier than they were since your gum disease took hold.

Don't think that just because your gums receded that your teeth must suffer the consequences. Don't lose teeth because your gums weren't as healthy as they could have been. Instead, talk to your periodontist about what can be done to restore the health and condition of your gums.

They can perform these simple procedures in very little time, and your recovery can also be swift. Take charge of your oral health today, by getting the procedure you need to improve your gums.
